  1. Ok so I have never tied anything for bass before (even though my grandfather has a pond full of bass on his property). So I did some digging and found in this months issue of Fly Tyer a fly that looked good to me. Its called Murray's Dying Chub. I had to modify it a bit for materials that I had available but here it is. I am tying it in size 6. I hope it is acceptable! ---Joe
  2. I agree also, I tried them and wont go back.
  3. God this made me laugh for a few minutes.....im still laughing.
  4. I started with one and moved on to a rotary. I liked the Anvil. Well built and you can't beat the price.
  5. Anything for trout and I would be in! Maybe an emerger swap?
  6. I use J Stockard, especially since they are from right here in CT (I try to support local businesses when I can). I also like Feather Craft, www.feather-craft.com Ill have to look at some of the other places you all have mentioned.
  7. I agree, I use a dubbing loop for my wet flys and nymphs. I use a little bit (a little bit is key) of wax and twist the dubbing around the thread for my dry flys and emergers. The loop gives me a nice buggy body, twisting the dubbing gets me a nice smooth body.
  8. I have never used Airflo, but that is a nice vest.
  9. Mine are done! Will be in the mail this week. ---Joe

  14. Thanks Guys, That is my section of the house, in the basement. It is finished. What you dont see is there is a fireplace just to my right (as I am standing taking the picture) and a couch to my left. Its nice to have my own little place in the house. Cell phone off, fire crackling, quiet fly tying time.
  15. Hi everyone! I am working on Wolly Buggers at the moment. Lost most of mine last summer in the trees so its time to stock up. Im moving on to emergers next!
  16. Hi everyone! I live in CT and started fly fishing about 5 years ago. I started tying about 3 years ago and love it. It is my stress relief from a very stressful job. I look forward to talking with everyone on here. ---Joe
