I've had a few people request leaders like this. Not sure how the fish them.

Byron, Thanks for the tip about www.artbeads.com I have been trying to find bulk packs. I ordered some 2.5 and 3.0, man those 2.5 are tiny and should work great on my lighter furled leaders. If they are as strong as you say, ( I have no reason to doubt it) this is a great tip and a great find. Thanks again!

Great thread, I make twisted mono leaders and like them for most situations. I am interested in how to make thread furled leaders.

For coon tails and such, it works for deer tails too. Do a search for a trapper's tail stripper. Plastic and just a couple of dollars. If you split the skin far enough towards the tip of the tail this tool will strip the the tail bone and flesh out slick as a whistle. However to cure the tail skin with salt or whatever a small knife should be used to split the now hollow tail skin all the way to the tip end, then pack with salt, borax, or whatever. Leave no flesh or fat on the skin.

I'm no expert but anything I've gotten from Orvis has been top notch. Of course Orvis will be pushed just like any other company who offers free classes, it's to be expected. Don't be afraid of Orvis products just remember there are others.

Okay well shoot I need to get some little bitty soft hackle, lol.

Thank you guys I appreciate the advice. I pretty new so I wasn't even sure what kind of smaller hackle to ask about. Unfortunately there is no shop close to me so I can not hand pick. I saw that Whiting has some 100 packs of hackle that might be a viable option.

Just like the title says can I get a recommendation for what hackle to use on micro buggers size 12 and 14 is what I would like to tie. The hackle I have is WAY to big. Thanks guys.
