Just saw the weather news last night saying Florida has had it's longest stretch of days in the 80's this January in 80 years.
I love it here.

If I'm still fly fishing in 20 years it'll be with a walker.

Pretty much depends on how you desire the hook point to ride, up or down and if you intend to use weighted eyes.

Glad I wern't takin a slug off'n as beer when I read yer post Islandeer. Wudda come otta my nose.

Very good Mike
I wish more people would use the proper verb cast NOT casted. As in "I went to BPS and cast their rods yesterday". NOT "The Dogwood was very nice when I casted it".
Sorry about the rant but it drives me crazy when people use casted.

Bottom line....shopping online can save you a lot of money for the same products no matter how you spell it.

The OP said he paid $10 for 10 blades at CVS in his first post.
I suggested ebay and he found 100 for $10 of the same quality blade.
Cut out the greedy middleman and yes cheap can be synonymous with quality.

Johnny, that is one beautiful fly. One of my favorites for our jumbo seatrout.
Mine are no where near as nice as yours but they are effective gator getters.
Would love to field test it for you but unfortunately a nasty algae bloom last spring did terrible things to our fish populations in the Indian River lagoon.
Hoping this spring and summer are better than last year.

Flat Rock be sure to show us what you tie up.

Groovy baby!

Fish Creek fly reel on ebay. I have the 5/6 and very impressed with the quality. $80 fully machined reel.

ebay, get a hundred for same price you paid.

Sounds like to me you are wanting to make a complicated fly when a simple one hook ep minnow ( or similar material ) works quite well. Especially with a number 8 hook.
Most of the time people tie on too much material and they don't swim right. Same with adding too much other hardware, etc. Probably why you will have a hard time finding an SBS on what you seek.
KISS works.

What's going on with the shuffle board playoffs in the Villages Mike?

Cream...that critter looks like redfish candy.

Joe and everybody else, I buy and sell on ebay and will not sell over seas for that very reason. Ebay is not always on the buyers side. If you describe your item correctly and take very good photos then buyers can't claim foul play on the seller. I've had more than one buyer try scam me but my clear photos had ebay on my side. They even removed a negative feedback from one such jerk. Setting up tight buyer requirements can also eliminate some bad buyers. But they're still out there.

What kind of rod you throwing that schoolie thing on sandfly?

The first two posts covered my two choices, in order too.

Yep, four on the tails and usually just one palmered.

Organize? What's that?
If I ever organized my stuff I probably wouldn't be able to find anything afterwards.

Blane, Here's the shrimpy seaducer flies I tied specifically for this including a box for them. Size 2 and 4 in each color for trout and reds in the salt. Also sending a bag of mixed flies from swaps and ones I tied but don't need. Being a disabled vet myself I really appreciate what all you guys are doing and giving us the opportunity to show our appreciation as well.
Should be in the mail tomorrow or Tues.

Nice ties old hat. What part of which coast you on? I'm in the Canaveral area.

Should call it the Doctors, Lawyers and Insurance Agents tournament. They're the ones who can drop that kind of money w/o batting and eye.
Me, I'm looking at $800+ for new tires and probably that or more for a clutch job on my truck too and the wife wants a new dryer on top of getting a very expensive tooth implant very soon. I'm gonna be so broke I wont even be able to pay attention.
