  1. Hello from Western NC, I traveled to your home state and fished the Holston yesterday. Had a wonderful day and caught fish on the dry. Welcome to the forum. Bear
  2. Now I feel bad about complaining because of sunny and 30, however I did have the opportunity to fish the Watauga in W. Tenn last weekend @ 70+ degrees.
  3. Thank you for the advice, I was figuring on dries and midges and hadn't really considered streamers.
  4. Hello All, A quick introduction before I get to the important stuff.... I live in Western NC and have fished the streams and rivers of the NC mountains as well as Eastern Tenn. for the last thirty years, and that's pretty much the extent of my travel's with the fly rod. The wife and I are planning a trip to fish MT in July, I've read about the Slide Inn located in Cameron and am hoping to obtain some helpful info on making the trip a success. I don't plan to use a guide, hopefully I can take my current level of experience combined with what I can learn in the next five months and catch lots of big fish....I couldn't help but to add that "big" stuff in there. I've been fortunate to have bow hunted in 11 states, I know what to plan, what to pack and what equipment I'll need to have a successful trip. However I'm in the dark on traveling across the country hoping to catch fish in foriegn waters. Equipment: Winston Boron 8.5' 4 wt, I'm running a 5wt wf SA GPX line on a Ross Evolution. Orvis Western 2, 8.5' and a Silver Label 7.5' 3wt. (I'll take all three but plan to fish the Winston). Any advice on fishing the Madison as well as info on the Slide Inn will be greatly appreciated, I would like to talk with someone who has visited the Slide Inn if possible. Bear
