Working on a variation of the PMC Emerger; getting a prototype together. For now, to remind us about warmer weather, had a Reader ask about Senkos and Bass fishing recently. Soft plastics are great at our local pond. Posted an article several years ago on the 4" Yamasenko that has video of the action at the local pond with senkos. Had to update it to add the video on how we rig them; looks like it was deleted when our host shifted to using YouTube videos instead of hosting them on their server. Here is the post and link to article.

Not yet. For the ponds I have been fishing lately seems like the black tying thread and grizzly hackle are working. PS: Used the PMC Emerger to catch a Trout and a little Bluegill today. However, the Griffith's Gnat in size 16 was the fly to have... But, as luck would have it, ran out of them. Post. For the Griffith's Gnat, I use a caddis hook else it's a standard Griffith's Gnat. Seem to get better hook ups with the caddis hook.... Griffith's Gnat on a Caddis Hook.

Fun time limiting out on trout at the little pond up the road.Dry Flies were the key this round with the Griffith’s Gnat in size 16 being the “go to” fishing fly. But, as luck would have it, ran out of them. Did manage to get the trout to bite on other dry flies despite losing my mojo at one point! Post.

Not able to hit the local ponds for trout this last week or this past weekend. Broke down to fix the "wet a line urge" and free-lined bread on ultralight spinning gear. Caught several Catfish. Post. Did fly fish with the 2-wt and the switch rod at a couple of ponds last week but to takers... was hoping to get a bluegill or two to keep the fishing addiction in check. Struck out... so glad to have caught something today.

Had issues with slow downloads for mobile smartphones. Made some changes, seems to work better, save for when the GoogleBots start doing their thing. Here is another post that should run better along with the upcoming events post.... Variation of the Near Deere pattern where we use the marabou plume used for the tail to make the body. Replaces the chenille. Black Near Deere Variant.

Here is info on how we tie a fishing fly that seems to be working on the trout feeding near the water's surface at a couple of local ponds. We first tried it on the Blue River in Oklahoma. Seem to be working in Texas as well. Fly Tying - The PMC Emerger.
