Cold morning... Was trying for Rainbow Trout. Caught a Shellcracker and two of the illusive "Green Trout" aka Bass. Post.

Local ponds we fish seem to be wanting a Griffith's Gnat. Have tried the three suggested fishing flies but it seems in at least two of the ponds, the Griffith's Gnat is the fly of choice. As it turned out, ran out of them; lost them to tree snags while casting - lots of trees around the pond we fished this morning. A quick look at the fly box turned up a PMC Emerger Variant that we have used with success in other places. Tied one on and was able to get three more trout to make a limit. Trout were moving about and feeding on the surface this morning. After working different parts of the pond, settled in on the "point" and was able to sight cast to passing schools. Since the action shots were cut short when we ran out of battery, did add pictures on how we tie the PMC Emerger Variant for anyone interested in tying their own. Simple fly, simple tie! Trout were moving about and feeding on the surface at out local pond this morning. After working different parts of the pond, settled in on the "point" and was able to limit out sight casting to passing schools. Caught two on a Griffith's Gnat, then ran out of the fishing fly... too many "tree fish" liking the fishing flies. Switched to a PMC Emerger - a fly we used on the Blue River in the past on trout actively feeding on/near the water surface. Was able to get three more to make a limit! Video Post.

Made it to a small pond that was stocked with trout last week on Friday. Started out slow until we found the pattern. Two of us limited out on trout... fun times! Friday's Video at Waterloo.

It was cold! Tried to fish a little longer but gave it up once the Cormorant showed and started feeding on the trout, and when I could not feel my fingertips. Lol!

Still working on the video but "Baby it's cold outside!" Caught three trout at a local pond this evening; was breaking ice off the rod guides! Post.

Checked out three ponds that were stocked with trout from a city down the road. Tough round but did get four trout Saturday at one of the parks. Three went for an inline spinner and one went for a Near Deere. Post.

Made it to a pond just down the road from us. New place... so new that Google Maps does not show the pond. It looks like it is still being built. Regardless, there is a pond, and it was stocked with trout. Overall, the bite was steady with lots of folks getting bit. Power Bait and Corn seemed to be working; did see several taken with fishing flies but could not tell if anyone had strikes with other lures. Was not able to get them on fishing flies... broke down and put on a PBRG (Power Bait Rainbow Glitter) in size 14. Fun time...! Post.

Rain delay but let's talk fishing... for stocker trout! Post. Hoping the rain lets up tomorrow and this cold gets better. New pond in a city just down the road was stocked Thursday. Hope to try my luck there... even better there were two other ponds in the same city that were stocked, too!

Got some updates on trout fishing at Turner Falls (delayed), Medicine Park, OKC, and Flower Mound (TX)! May be of interest to some in Oklahoma and the DFW Metroplex. Still fighting a cold but hope to at least get outside one day... weather permitting! Post.
