  10. Thank you, everything went well until I started and finished that post, got a little overwhelmed. I seen videos on it before I started. Didn't work out like I wanted. As far as the dubbing for some reason I always seen the use more then needed even though I try not to use so much. That don't make any sense. Practice makes perfect. Tightlines
  11. Why? You can say what you want, it's all good. Tightlines
  12. Thank you, that post was alot of trouble for me, it can only get better, yes that's where I tied off the hackle, bringing the thread back to the eye without being noticed was a chor. I tied 2, the other one had a shorter post but this one looks a little better. Work in progress. The kit I bought from a well known company was a disappointment, missing chenille, wrong size hooks for flys demonstrated and broken flat and dried out elk patch. I'm traveling so I thought I make due, its all good. Tightlines
  13. Thank you, it's work in progress. Tightlines
  14. Thanks for the tip, I have round rubber legs that came with the kit I bought, I have others ordered, just the question is when do I get my order? Being that I'm cheaper then niveker. 🤣
  15. 🤣😅 ya right NO. But thanks, I don't have much hair left, but if I did I would of pulled them out. That parachute was tuff. Multiple times trying to wrap the yard with the hackle.
  16. I watched a few video's, excellent work he does, I need more practice practice practice. Tightlines
  17. Yes it will fish, this with the tail is now straight out the back, was only wrapped around bend of hook. Yes I agree the tail does look a little thin. Next on will be busier. Thanks Tightlines
  18. #16 dry fly hook Black 140 danier thread Rust brown super fine dubbing 8 fibers brown neck hackle white akron yard brown saddle hackle the parachute is the more difficult part, wont win any prizes but it should fish very well. What do you think? Tightlines
  19. Thank you After looking closer that tall does look a little off, I have a hackle gauge coming maybe that will help. I don't have any flash yet. There are many versions of this fly, I tried to ty it as what was called for in the pattern. But I do thank the wire gives it more strength.
  20. Thanks for the tip, I will definitely look into that.
  21. Thank you, it's work in progress. I broke the thread tightening the foam, and had to start over. Its not hard to do.i believe I forgot to lift the rear foam and place a few wraps. Thanks for pointing that out. Oh and thoughs legs do get in the way. But good idea.

  24. Silvercreek thank you so much for taken the time out of your busy day to post everything I've done wrong, but not 1 word on maybe just maybe the hair I used from the kit I bought was bad. I fished for many years bought flys and fished them till they fell apart and I still caught fish. I have been tying flys for about maybe 3 weeks. As a hobby, not a business, and as I need them. This hobby is not black and white but there is alot of grey area between the lines. Maybe this forum would benefit more if people like yourself would give more of a positive constructive criticism. Because from where I'm sitting there ain't many new comers posting anything they have tied. I wonder why?? You have a blessed day now mr. Silvercreek ya hear.
  25. Her is the elk hair patch I have.
