Radoslav Kiskinov 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2005 Hey, where are you guys? Nice te see you again on board. I'm happy to tell you my last flyfishing for chubs in a bulgarian arificial lake near Asenowgrad town, Bear reservoir /what a strange name for a lake, never mind, in fact I couldn't see any bears around / The band was bigger now, we were I, Pavlin, Stefan and Milko in the Paviln's car. I met them when I was to see my yoуnger brother in Plovdiv, some of the most beautiful city in Bulgaria/if you have never been to Plovdiv you have missed a lot, "the city with the five hills"/. We decided to go flyfishing for trout in Rodopy Mountain, but there was a lot of rainfall previous night and we changed the plane in the last moment. It was in the morning, when we were mayking our ways through the river Bear which flows to reservoir Bear/ ehehee everithing is Bear there, no it is not a nightmare, and I think there is a rhyme here / The river was very shallow, and that day was full of freshwater fish species who was there for reproduction. The Bear was a big one, I mean the reservoir, I was there for first time and was amazed of it's beauty With very shallow banks from the one side and rocky steep banks form the other. We all found some place in its warm woters a place to fish with nymphs. Here it is Stefan, who is searching his pockets to find some pheasant tail nymphs to start with. and here this is Pavlin aiming my camera. We tried some dragonlies nymphs that day but with no result. The fish was just not there. So I decided to find it somewhere in the other side of the lake. My intuition of a shark helped my then and I found a inlet/, cove, bay, I'm sorry dont know what is the right word/ where a nock of chubs were hiding. I creeped like a snake and rose behind theirs backs. I took a beetle fly and started the show... The fish was not so big but very greedy. That is why I relesed them to eat more to become better fighters. I used the Pavlin's rod, reel and line that day. And the fun was really great taking out of the water chub after chub... And here on the last picture it is the hero beetle of that wonderfull day I wish you same luck! Best to all! Rado
