hello from Aroostook county, northern Maine

Hi there, I'm new to fishing as of this summer, and new to fly fishing as of a week or so ago. I'm positive that I'm hooked though. How did it happen?

 

My husband convinced me to go fishing with he and my uncle last weekend, and while we were out on the lake they got out of the boat and stood in the lake. My husband said to me 'you know, I brought your fly rod if you want to try it'. I didn't even know I had a fly rod.

 

Well, I couldn't be outdone by the guys so I got out of the boat too and tried my fly rod. I caught nothing I could keep, but I had a total blast.

 

I convinced my hubby to move his fly tying stuff to the kitchen table (yeah like that was tough to do) and I've been playing around with his fly tying supplies for the past week.

 

I'm psyched to have found this site with a ton of great resources, and humbled by pictures of the flies I've seen posted on this site. I'm looking forward to spending the long cold winter getting better at tying flies and of course catching bigger fish than my hubby next spring.

Outfish My Husband!!! She does that often, ok, well not that often....haha...

 

She out fished me once, and she'll never let me forget it.

 

Anyways, I"m sure you 'll enjoy it here and learn a great deal from everyone, I know I have.
