WYKnot 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 highly recommend Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. I second that, a very good book for the new photographer.
Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2006 I've used those mini test clips from Radio Shack. I glued a small magnet to the bottom, then they stand up by themselves, and I can put a fly in one and put it on the vise as an example when I'm trying a new pattern. JJD 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 I use the mini photo clips (sometimes called memo clips) for shooting flies and sometime setting a complicated pattern up out of the way for drying. There are several versions similar to this http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=1530&f=14149

JJD 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 You sometimes see similar ones in Borders, Wal-mart, etc. Price varies widely. I picked up a set for around $7. Not exactly cheap for what you get, but I've used them for quite a while.
