Cool, I made a few of these last week after seeing the video. Made 10 in all, 5 different colors.

 

I have only been tying a year and a half or so, and so far this was the largest fly I have tied.

 

Oh, and yes the music was funny.

How much do brass coneheads weigh?

 

I'm thinking of tying some meat whistles, but instead of buying jig hooks and cones, why not just buy jig heads? I can get 1/16 ounce jig heads on a 1/0 hook (for a lot less than buying the hooks and cones), but I don't know if that is more or less weight than a large brass conehead. Anybody here know?

Another thing is that the "celebrity" tyers sell the licene to their fly patterns to the large asian tying houses and merely receive a royalty from the sales of their patterns.

 

I'm not sure how much they weigh to be honest. I'll bring some into work with me tomorrow and find out.
