Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 Took a 4 day weekend and headed "up North" to chase the elusive Brook trout. Just me and my red "fish truck". Fished a few of the small streams that flow into the Manistee North of Cadillac in the PM Stae Forest. Very productive trip, LOTS of Brookies. Stayed at a State Forest campground that has been closed for 25+ years. Sits on the Manistee between 2 of my favorite Brookie streams. Saw only one other person in there, and he wasn't fishing. Quiet nights, bear tracks in the sand, camp coffee on the fire at night. Just can't beat that kinda trip. All I need now is that 23 year old blond with good eyes to change flies.
