BandMan 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2008 That photo is amazing! I used to be in to photography a lot a few years ago. I am beginning to regain interest. I've never heard of HDR. Can someone give a nutshell explanation?
Frogfish 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 HDR is High Dynamic Range. Basically, you take a bunch of pictures at different exposures (either changes in the f-stops or shutter speed), and then merge them together. Thus, the final product has no dark areas or blown out highlights (hopefully ). Andrew, did you use any filters?

BandMan 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks, Frogfish. That really explains why there was that much contrast in the pic. I had never seen anything like it before this - If I have, I didn't notice it like I did here. I'm going to have to try it sometime.
Mokai 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks all.. Frogfish, I used a 4 stop ND filter to get the exposure times that I wanted..
