Aussietroutboy 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 I am a pretty good scrounger for all sorts of materials. Got some really cheap foam sheets at a variety store recently. Also have used expansion joint foam which is very good! If anyone has seen A Foam Odyssey by Gin Clear Productions which features Stu Tripney's brilliant foam flies he uses foam cylinders for sight posts in all sorts of colors. Any ideas on where these can be found? Or substitutes? He also uses metallic dubbing! which I find hard to find but have improvised with some tinsel type stuff comes threaded on string, just wind on and trim it hard. In blue it is great for blow fly bodies etc. Anyhow I recommend the DVD for a bit of fly tying innovation and a lot of fun

Aussietroutboy 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2008 Yes! However he doesn't seem to sell the materials , not online anyway!. Could be a god excuse for a trip across the Tasman however! I'll keep scrounging.
