Yellow Pheasant Nymph

Maybe it's the current blow out conditions that are keeping me from my bass creeks, or maybe I have just lost my mind, but for the last three days, I have become obsessed with classic hairwings, bucktails, and soft hackles and everincreasingly find myself day dreaming of big rainbows, old canoes, and fresh chrome....go figure :dunno: ... This is a very generic little fly that was productive for me on my last steelhead outting back in 2007. I have been told that when tied in purple (Sz 6) it is terrific for the Great Lakes tribs (ohio and PA) in the fall..

Oh, Don't get me wrong...I LOVE TROUT...I just love smallies, bucketmouths, and gar more....have some great little streams for trout, and of course, we have the Cumberland River...all great fisheries...it's just odd for it to be the first week of August and here I am thinking about 40 degree water and winter steelhead runs....global warming? Full moon? Who the hell knows!?
