Ok, I looked it up,

 

I guess there are 4 species of Pike Minnow. The Sacramento one is native to the central valley in California only. There's a colorado Squawfish that's native to the Colorado river. It looks like the Northern Pike minnow is what you may have over in your parts. From the few pics I looked at, they all look similar.

from a nice deep pool today. I must say watching a fish take your nymph that you just hand fed him might just be more fun than watching them take your dries.

4" Bunker Fly tied with SF flash blend got freight trained by this monster Northern Pike from Lake X in northern Ontario

 

That fly rocks :headbang: and that's what I call a nice snot rocket.

Man check that color out! Beautiful fish man....

 

I agree, I'd love to have some replica mounts hanging around the tying room if they could match that coloring.. :thumbsup:
