Firetiger 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 A cool fly, really like the softex abdomen. It looks so life like! How does the medaillon wing cast? When I tried these a while back they spun like an airplane propeller and made terrible things out of my tippet (I was using about 1.5 metre of 0.10 mm mono, a rather fine stuff), so I converted to CDC; I would be curious to hear your experience. J. Medallion wing is really a problem. I usually have 3 options: 1)Use a smaller fly with the same tippet 2)Change the mono for a "fatter" (from a 0,10 to 0,12) 3)If i don´t have a smaller fly i reduce the tippet lenght Very very important is reduce the "false casts" when fishing. When the problem continue (airplane propeller), i cast 2-3 times and i revise the tippet, i try to "destroy"(?) the propeller applying heat with my fingers or with a rubber to the tippet. I prefer to do it instead of tying wing with CDC, i don´t like them when wet, they become much smaller. Excuseme for my poor english. Thanks

I tried it on http://www.anapam.org/ and even though they have inspiring patterns there I had hard time understanding them  Your experience with medaillon is about the same as mine; and I thought I was special in this respect :lol2: Cheers! :yahoo: J.
