Taylor B. Hess 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 Not really sure what I've tied here, but I'd say they're something like a spey. I had just had an itch to tie up whatever they are.... Any insight? discuss please. Thanks.
letumgo 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 Taylor - I don't know what you call them, but I think they are contagious, because I've got the itch to tye some myself. The bottom one is my favorite of the lot. They all look like they will be very effective steelhead flies. Great job!

Frank G. Swarner III 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Well they aren't spey flies, but they do resemble a cross of a spade fly and a soft hackle. They sure are nice regardless!!!

Thanks Frank, I didn't want to offend anyone by calling them speys, so I thought I'd ask first what you'd call them. I have seen some pictures of flies similar to these, and decided to tie a few up. Thanks again! Tight Lines.
Old Hat 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 I would say, a very nice lot of wingless wet flies for steelhead.

Taylor B. Hess 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2010 How about one with a red tail, black body, purple hackle, and a blue head....... Order Up! By request... Enjoy. I over did the head on the one, I got a little carried away and got to a point where I couldn't save him...
