Using G 9 Question about timer

Hi,

 

I am using my G9 in manual mode. I want to avoid moving the camera when depressing the shutter. Can I use the auto shutter? How do I get it to engage when in manual mode? I set it and don't know how to make it then fire??????

the user manual says you can use the self timer in the manual mode. have you tried that??

 

try using a tripod to keep the camera from moving
