Recommended Posts

Would like to know everybody's thoughts on using the nor vise for deer hair work. Looking forward to reading everybody's thoughts and comments. BF

The jaws hold hooks firmly for heavy hair work,...but then, so do many other vise jaws.

The rotary function is handy for sculpting spun hair,...but many vises have rotary ability.

I do like how simple and quick it is to positively lock the jaws every 90 degrees of rotation, which is handy for stacking around the shank.

Another plus is that the vise is mounted either directly to the desk/table or to a sizable base, either of which resist moving about during heavy-handed tying.

So, functionally, it may be as good as (or better than) most vises available for hair work. But the premium paid for the Norvise is really for other tasks where

fast rotation is beneficial.
