sandflyx 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 the idea of the magnet and suction cup holders is only to attach outside from hood to roof for traveling from spot to spot not highway use, you will lose your gear if you try it. microwave ovens have the strongest round magnets for this application. have made a few for friends and thats the only magnet that holds on well. don't trust your gear to others.. ski racks work well on roof tops for rods, a lot of surf casters use them. for inside a berkly 10.95 rod holder works in my van. here is pic of outside rack and one of inside rack I made the inside from a adjustable coat rack for cars and a berkly rod holder.
