Used the pronghorn because I’ve got a big piece of it to play with and the color sorta reminds me of the spruce moth. hook - WFC Model 3 #12 thread - Danville 6/0 tan body - peacock herl bleached underwing - Congo Hair white wing - pronghorn hair collar - partridge head - dubbing hare’s ear Start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap to bend Tie in some herl, twist and wrap to 2/3 mark; tie off/trim Tie on a hank of CH; push down with your thumbnail to spread it, trim even with bend Clean, stack, measure ( a bit past bend) a clump of pronghorn; trim butts, tie in Prep partridge feather Tie in by tip, dull side facing you Fold back, lock in with a couple wraps Stroke fibers back, wrap, tie off/trim Wax thread, touch dub hare’s ear Dub head, stroking fibers back; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The spruce bud worm moths are crazy up here for most of the season so the grayling would eat that up, and the trout. Plus, it will be easy to see on the water. Thanks for showing us.
