My guess is it was inspired by the Rabbit Strip Hex. Bob's variation is a little different and should be very productive.

John, I might have to pay you a visit this summer. Sage mentioned putting a hurtin' on the gills in May too. The Skip's Dads look great too. I've done well on smallmouth in lakes with those.

Estaz I have become partial to estaz over the last two years. Its has a more realistic appearance in the water and sinks well. I use estaz for the core and egg yarn for the veil. And its very easy to tie.

mrjim, Have you fished there before? I fished there 2 years ago at the end of August. If you're interested, I can tell you what worked well for me.
