16 sounds good to me, high enough to get some variation but still low for new tiers.

im thinking im gonna do a pheasant tail soft hackle in size 12.

i would join a soft hackle swap, this is one technique i also need some practice with.

too all of the swappers who participated in the bugger swap i was the one who didnt get my flies in. this is the first swap i have failed to finish and it will be the last, i had some personal issues and didnt have access to my computer or tying materials but those problems are now resolved. for this i apolagize to you all, and as said this will be the last swap i fail to live up to my obligations. sincerly greg: steelhead-hunter
