Howdy Caddis , another Mainer'a here, soutern part ,im close to sebago, and like you ,i have been trying a few flies in the last 20 years. Downeast is home. i travel back there a few times every summer. Ihave 4 wheeler,and i just finished building my own Square strem strip canoe,witch i plan to make a rack for,, on the wheeler for some back country Beaver damms . :dunno: I have a Quistion, How many of you people out there have a DanVise.?? I bought one ,and have have been using it now for about 6 months. Why im asking is , the tips on the Vise are bent outward from sqeeseing to tight i surpose. I have had many Vises before in the last 25 years,and this is a frist. Guess i can ask J.Strockages if they can get a replacement set. Just woundering ,Thanks . JR

i never tryed bronzeing herl before, just used what ever i got, but i do havea surgestion for cruveing it. us warm soak for a short time in warm water ,and lay ove a cup on its side.helps to make nice even streamers . JR

I have a reference guide book for fly tyers By Dick Steward. Its a standard thing to keep handy ,has most makes of hooks listed, and the pictures are actual size. Makes it easyer when ordering hooks online. Hankjr51

i learned to be very careful with loose hooks , i have a pug that likes hanging around my feet while i am tieing,and he can find the smallest things to put in his mouth.My wife would kill me if anything happened to him.

Not sure how bait fisherman got on my name list lol am Not flies rule.
