  1. That mouse and bee are flat out perfect. Are you burning the hair?
  2. i bought the yarn in this vid from Blazing Needles in Utah so my kids can tie up this crane fly larvae. Its a very close sub for the original yarn used in the killer bug.
  3. You could put a small o ring like you'd get at the orthodontist on the bobbin tube, place the tube over the eye of the hook n slide the o ring onto the eye/shank .
  4. Rusty #1. That was much better after getting my ass handed to me by that Adams. Wish they were all this easy.
  5. Took me awhile to get these right(ish). I had a crap grizzly cape I've been fightin with that finally got replaced. The difference between that first cape and the one I just bought is w/o a doubt the most valuable fly tying lesson I've learned so far. Now that I have the new grizzly cape though I'm totally out of smaller sizes in the brown . So I've got a 16 Adams w/14 hackle. Oh well. I'm callin this fly done and moving on to the next one in cravens book. Rusty spinner.
  6. Is it ok to do that to a hook? Will heating that much weaken it?
  7. I got Pjusk on my shorts once never on my speakers though. Nice flies.
  8. Got to the part where you held up the biots for 7 min.
  9. Every bag I've got that's labeled or advertised "wooley bugger" marabou is pure crap. Cabelas has a premium marabou which is very nice. The best looking stuff I have came from Orvis.
  10. switch, thats what he does in the video above
  11. Oh, and when your done post em to the "many faces of the wooley bugger" thread.
  12. If you want to make the most of a feather you could strip the good stuff off the mid and lower sections of the stem, clump em together remove the tips and tie that in for a seriously full flowy tail then use the feather tip for a collor which makes for a really good lookin fly.
  13. Good luck, but you won't need it w/those. Awesome looking flies.
  14. I was THOROULY disappointed going through the swap threads for the first time and not seeing everyone's patterns posted. I guess I can see the ruffled feathers thing in some cases, silly, but whatever. I don't get why the thread starters don't take a pick of the assortments or each fly before they go out for the rest of the board to see. That should be standard procedure.
