  1. Thanks for the reminder of what they are called. I can definitely see improvement over the first one.
  2. What brand: St. Croix Rio Santo Rod length: 9 foot The weight of the fly rod: 4wt Action: Medium-fast Is it a Fly Rod Combo? No What do you fish with it? Trout, smallmouth, panfish What did it cost you? $120 for the rod, $50 for the reel (Picisfun Sword), $60 for the line (Rio Gold) Currently, it's my only rod. Looking to add a nice 6wt to the quiver

  6. Here's what I tied. Top one is the first, followed by the second one.
  7. For 2024 I decided that I would learn how to tie my own flies and be creative with colors and design. My local fly fishing club has free fly-tying classes every Thursday, so I went last night. Learned how to tie a size 8 hook streamer. Tied 2 in 2 hours, taking my time and trying to ingest all the information I could. First one was fishable, but the second one turned out much better. Taking this class has shown me that I have some good potential. Still need to get a vice, tools, and supplies, but will continue taking these classes before and after I get the things I need.
