Hey everybody I have spun deer hair once or twice before, but never attempted to actually make some hair poppers. These are on size 6 streamer hooks because I'm really running low on hooks. I know they aren't packed very tight, and the trimming is terrible, but all crits are welcome! I only have natural colored deer hair atm. Once I get some more practice I'm gonna invest in a bunch of colors. Thanks! Mike

You think 100$ is bad? Try 800$ on getting a new bike. I ride bmx pretty heavily and am getting a new Eastern ace of spades pro 2007. Great bike, terrible price!

Marabou Muddler!! I tryed tying some of these and when i spun the deer hair it went back a little to far, will it still work? I have a light brown deer hair ( only the tip is 'natural' ) and black marabou. I used marabou for the wing and underwing and peacock herl for the extra ummf. Fishing in the susky below the fibra damn. (fiber dam)

Hi! So far this has been a really great forum to chat on. I have been tying for a few months and I can't progress forward because I am having a very hard time getting materials. If anyone might have anything they can part with, please pm me! I would have bought my own but a job that was almost a definate went south quickly. Thank you so much! I can't wait to post some of my flys!

yes pics!

It could have died of bird flu, I wouldn't mess with it.
-
What ive been doing lately is TWO whip finishes and a coat of head cement, i swear those flys will never come apart.

Conehead, you sound like my grandpa, who flyfishes. :P

It seems as if I just got hooked up with a new job working as a part time mechanic trainee. Can't wait for the extra money for tying materials!

DO I SEE A SPINCASTING ROD?!?!?!? j/k nice fish buddy.
-
Alright, that sounds about right, and on my fly..it has legs, always forget the legs.
-
All I did was start out like a pheasant tail nymph, same tail and body, but then i made my thorax a lot longer and not as bulky and like normal covered the top half in turkey tail for the wing case, first cast and every following cast they were smash it!
-
ROFL at "wonder why it isnt in your mouth"! Nice fish buddy!
-
Alright, I probably didnt wrap the pheasant tail tight enough then. Still 20 fish on 1 fly of my creation is no complaint, just thought maybe the nymph went because of the head cement. Thanks for the help.

Really nice looking fly! Can i order 2 dozen?
-
Hi! Generally how many coats of head cement are applyed to a fly and what is the normal drying time? Regards, Mike
