MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2023 My wife and I did a float trip on the upper St Croix in Wisconsin today. Our guide was Erik from the Hayward Fly Fishing Company. We have fished with Erik for 13 years and find him to be very knowledgeable and a delightful fishing companion. We saw eagles and various birds as well as a 6’ sturgeon breaching. Air temperature reached low 90s and fish were quite fussy. The water was low, but in good shape. We tried all the usual flies and had the best action on Boogle bugs. One of the Boogle fish. Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2023 Great smallie Tom 😎 I bet seeing that big sturgeon was exciting. I remember seeing one in the Mantistee one time that was 4' long right next to my drift boat when we floated over a shallow riffle and it freaked me out because I was not expecting to see a fish that size in there lol
