Nice one Fred. On a hot summer day at the Caledon Mt Trout club one guy was pulling them out one after another and he showed me the fly he was using and it was a tiny Prince like yours ;)

Great looking fly Fred that would work good here on manitoulin Island

for brookies and bows,, great dropper fly for ice fishing also over live minnow

I can barely see that small & my fat fingers won't let me tie that small!! That, and my Regal kinda snickers when I put something that small into it. Nice job,one of the most used flies in North America,for a reason!!!

Ken, I use that fly on the Grand alot this time of the year, with terrific results.

AA, I'm going to be fishing in Western NC later in October and I think it'll kick some butt there too !

i tie a similar one with brown partridge flank fibers for a hackle. landed the largest trout of my life (so far, hopefully :) ) on it. very effective, and saves having to tie in the forked tail of the standard prince. the rainbows and cutts out west in alberta just love it
