Need a Bluegill Imitation for Pike

I need to tie some bluegill imiations for pike, anyone have any reccomended patterns?

This came from Nick Pujic. If the link doesnt show try his patterns page or search in database. From your recent ties Im sure you will come up with a killer pattern. Im sure there is a puglissi (Sp) sunfish pattern as well

That has the right profile, but I want to tie them so they represent about a 4"-6" bluegill, or sunfish

about half the size of the one in the picture

Just change the colours to suit your fly.

tali&back: zonker strips

body: body tube or christal chenille.....

eyes: prismatic stik on

 

You can make body & tali from 2 splited zonker strips or make whole fly from wool.

Check out Jimmy Nix's bluegill pattern, it is fairly easy to tie and is a killer pattern.

 

You can tie it with deer hair or wool depending on the action you want.
