Hello from British Columbia

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. My name is Ross and I am from the Fraser Valley in British Columbia. Started Fly Fishing two years ago and started tying this year. Love tying Spey flies, even though I do not spey fish, but some of the patterns are great for Steelhead. Looking forward to joining in some of the swaps in the near future.

I am semi retired, my wife and myself have a small buisness that takes about 4-5 hours a day of our time so I have lots of time to go fishing and geocaching. Lots of great fishing places within a 30 minute drive of home. Great trout, salmon, sturgeon and steelhead fishing all within 30 minutes drive.

Looking forward to being a part of this forum. Have not sen anouther forum with so much information before. Thanks

Welcome aboard. I'm to the south of you. Don't worry about the spey thing. I think alot of guys started tying them before they ever saw a spey rod (I know I used a double hander when I was over in Scotland, but that was only for a short time, so doesn't count). I pretty much tied my first speys for use on my single handers. So no worries. They're named for a river, not a rod. So feel free to use them for whatever rod you want.
