Bead Head 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2006 My question is do you consider a copper John a fly or a lure? I've heard them called both but when does a fly become a lure and when is a lure a fly?
Redwings1 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2006 A copper john is a fly, but then I suppose technically all flies are lures. This is a bit of a recurring topic on the forum.
ashbourn 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2006 A fly is a type of lure, a copper john is a type of fly. Both are right. I had a English paper in Coolege and one of the things I had to do was define a fly to someone who does not know what it is. That was a fun paragraph.
