bryophyte 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Glad to be among you folks. I am new to fly tying, for sure, but I am anxious to learn a few bream and crappie (minnow) patterns to use around here. This area is not known for fly fishing, and that's a pity. Nevertheless, I plan to enjoy it here. I look forward to absorbing some of your collective knowledge, and I appreciate your acceptance of an elder beginner. Safe fishing to everyone.
Sturgeon_Catcher 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Age is not a relevant factor in fly tying. All ages in this group. Have fun and learn lots. Check the species index and click on the type of fishing fly you are looking for under type of fish. 60 patterns for Bream. Enjoy Fred

Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I think that makes you the fourth Louisianan registered on the site. I'm on the diagonal from you down in southwest Louisiana, in Lake Charles. Welcome. There are a few fly fishers around Louisiana, and there is a fly club in Monroe, the Ouachita River Fly Fishers (http://orff.squarespace.com/) which may be of interest to you.
