Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Just doin some cleaning/revamping of my tying&rod building area today and came across a new Griffin Hackle&hook gauge that mounts on the stem of your vise. I already have one on the base of my Renzetti so I dont need this one. So if any of you new tiers want it then just be the first to speak up and its yours (long as your not in Zimbobway or somewhere that will cost me alot to mail it to ya :hyst: )
stony 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 I'll take it. Not sure what it's for but I can learn.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 You got it stony. PM me your mailing address and I'll get it sent out to ya. What it does is you bend a hackle feather around the little post and the end of the hackle tips fall somewhere on the gauge. The number that the end of the hackle touches is the size fly that hackle feather fits best. And the hook chart you just size lose hooks next to and you can see what size they are.
