Hey Chris, what dubbing are you using to coat the tape with? Also does the fly have a body or is it just the hook shank?

Thanks

As its a black fly, i have used mole (sorry that i haven't stated), though just vary the dubbing to the colour of the fly. You can use just a bare hook shank, though i have used a body of black dubbing.

Hope this helps

Best regards

Chris

Ok, here's a free comment on your fly.

Nice fly. I like it.

Do you have any problem with the dubbing on the wing falling off once it's wet?

I haven't actually tried fshing the fly yet!!!

I saw it been tied at the british fly fair. The bottom can be coated in floo glue or similar.

Thanks for the comment. It does have a few technical errors, but at 16, i have many more years to refine them!!

Maybe a second piece of tape on the other side would do the trick. Let us know how it fishes.

Good idea....I'll let you all know how it fishes. Caddis hatches have finished on the chalkstreams, though i'll give it a float and see what happens !!!!
