knoxy 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2006 This is the second time i've posted this today due to the hacker problem, so hope it works :hyst: Below i have included the images to creating the caddis. mtn 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2006 Hey Chris, what dubbing are you using to coat the tape with? Also does the fly have a body or is it just the hook shank? Thanks
knoxy 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2006 As its a black fly, i have used mole (sorry that i haven't stated), though just vary the dubbing to the colour of the fly. You can use just a bare hook shank, though i have used a body of black dubbing. Hope this helps Best regards Chris
knoxy 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 Just wondering what people think of the finished fly and the procedure. Comments would be nice ! Chris
oatka 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 Ok, here's a free comment on your fly. Nice fly. I like it. Do you have any problem with the dubbing on the wing falling off once it's wet?
knoxy 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 I haven't actually tried fshing the fly yet!!! I saw it been tied at the british fly fair. The bottom can be coated in floo glue or similar. Thanks for the comment. It does have a few technical errors, but at 16, i have many more years to refine them!! Chris
oatka 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 Maybe a second piece of tape on the other side would do the trick. Let us know how it fishes.
knoxy 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 Good idea....I'll let you all know how it fishes. Caddis hatches have finished on the chalkstreams, though i'll give it a float and see what happens !!!!
