dsaavedra 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2007 i like em and think they will do very well in saltwater. i think its weird how you tie your eyes in though. most people tie them on first, to the bare hook shank, but it looks like you tied them in last ontop of the thread head. this is not a problem, just different. if anthing its better, because it will ensure that the fly will ride upsidedown. Linesides 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2007 If your trying to tie clousers you are on your way. When I first strated tying I did the same with my eyes. Then I discovered that you tie the eyes on a bit back from the eye. maybe 4 eye lengths. Tie the eyes on figure 8 style. Then tie the bottom wing in between the eyes. That was what I really had a problem with until I learned to tie them sparse. Any questions feel free. There are no dumb or silly questions.
