Alex C. 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 I see those errors too, but I can scroll down and see what's supposed to be there, you can't?
Bert Brehm 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 Yes. I can scroll down too, just like you described. But now try clicking on one of the options under "List By:", for example "Imitation". I get error messages again and no results.
Bert Brehm 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 I no longer see database error messages when accessing the "Fly Pattern Database". Thanks to whomever fixed the problem. I am still getting errors when choosing options under "List By:". Is this the appropriate place to report problems?
Guest Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Yes, it is. The List by problem is something I am looking into, it may or may not come back as a feature. There are too many patterns, and those pages are taking too long to load.
Bert Brehm 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 Slow database, hmmmm. 10,000 records isn't really all that much. MySQL should be able to handle that. Have you tried adding some indexes? http://www.databasejournal.com/features/my...10897_1382791_2
Guest Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Bert, I am a php programmer by trade, I am fully aware of indexes. When it was written back when I first wrote the database the point of those links was to show all the patterns on one page. If I did a pagination system, it would work fine...I just don't have the time to rewrite a bunch of code right now. Especially when you can do a search and find the same info. Bert Brehm 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Well then, you're obviously the right man for the task. The search function is more than adequate. Congratulations on a well-done website.
