Hywel 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 What a stunning fly! What size hook did you use, and what did you use for body hackle - Silver Pheasant? If it is, the bird must have been hanging around Barry Bonds! Hywel
nrthcsteel 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Thanks guys. Hywel the body hackle is Amherst tail tied in bunches. A friend of mine had an old funky dreamcatcher type thing and it had this pretty tattered tail on it so I said let me have that feather! It took quite a few scrubs behind the ears to make it usable. I had a nice one ordered from another member here but it got lost in the mail, thats a bummer I know he sent it and hes a great guy and now there is a nice tail out there somewhere.................... Kevin oh yeah its tied on a cs10/1 1/0.
Hywel 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2007 Ahhh,...I see. I didn't realize the body hackle was bunch-tied. In any event, it's a lovely fly, Kevin. Have you ever tried spinning Amherst (tail) or Argus on wire for body hackle or collars? Hywel
