Crazynymph 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Hello can anyone consider some easy tie nymphs for trout except pheasant tail and hares ear.??
Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I've had real good luck on Prince nymphs. Those are quite simple. Something about those white biots. It almost seems that the trout zoom in on them
Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Try our fly pattern database's search function: http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?act=flysearchform For "Fly Pattern Type" choose Nymph and you should get a decent list of different styles of patterns
Dble Haul 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Prince nymphs, zug bugs, and metallic caddis have always been good to me. Hmm...is it coincidence that all three of these patterns have some peacock herl in them? I think not.
Pujic 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 You can check these out if you want. Very easy to tie and they take their share of fish. Good luck! http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=185 http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=82 http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=91 http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=157 http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=205 http://www.onlineflytyer.com/showfly.asp?record_ID=144 Cheers! JOhnStoeckel 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 A favorite, easy tie from the upper midwest is the "Pink Squirrel". See http://www.couleeregiontu.org/Tips.html
dontheo 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 I like the mini muddler in a nymph style with the wings clipped back. It is easy to tie and you can use either silver or gold tinsel for the body depending on the area you fish. Plus even if you screw it up it's the right way to tie it as the buggier the better. SDHflyfisher 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 try just some bead head nympohs w/ just a dubbed body and nothing else maybe change colors and combos of colors for what you want
beartooth 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2004 I know it's boring, but here in MT, I've had the most success on both rainbows and browns with the plain old bead head hare's, seems to be the most reliable, consistent, and above all, easy to tie. I also just started tying a little brassy one that consists of just a brass wire wrapped body with a peacock herl head (couple of wraps). You can add a bead if you want on that pattern as well. Seems to work on the smaller spring-creek sizes (20-24) really well. Have fun! KD
budd 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2004 i agree with anything that uses peacock herl!! dont know what it is but the trout love it!!
