Capt. Matt C 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 Josh and HT, Thanks guys, I am asuming that the craft store beads do not present an issue sliding over a curved caddis hook or a hook such as a Dai Riki 270. Am I correct? Thanks everyone as well.
atroutbum2 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 I know that the metal beads you get in the craft stores have the same dia. hole all the way through the bead, making the bead go arround the bend will be a problem. I got metal beads from a craft store once and couldnt use em. The beads sold in fishing shops are counterbored on one side to allow you to go arround the bend. The glass beads i use have the same dia. but if you look at the bead they have rounded edges at the hole, making it easier to go arround the bend. Sort of a mini counterbore on both sides of the hole. Sometimes the beads in the same package will not fit on the same size hooks. All i can suggest is try them, if they work thats great, but....... Try taking a hook to the store and trying it there to see if it works for you.
