caddis16 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2008 Nice timing. I was just in the process of filling a cork with Caddis.
Old Hat 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2008 I really like Nelsons on stillwaters hopped or stripped across the surface as a skating sedge pattern.
Sal Velinus 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Day5, not saying the fish-whatever guy's fly isn't the most spectacular fly in the world. And congrats on having a fishing buddy. But if his looks so great why not show it wet with the natural instead of using Rado's pic? The beauty of rado's fly is the segmented body which is missing on the utube fly. Don't care really, but I cared enough to tie a couple today. I omitted the dubbing, IMO it isn't needed and doesn't add much. I used poly-yarn for the body and be sure to twist it very tight and continue to twist as you are wrapping it.
CM_Stewart 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 My votes would be for CDC and Elk http://www.danica.com/flytier/hweilenmann/cdcelk.htm and Nancy's Prayer http://www.danica.com/flytier/berickson/nancys_prayer.htm I've done very well with both.

If you have a comment on a material or a fly try to be a bit more constructive. It seems like every post of yours I read is very negative. Relax its fly fishing!!! Gooseberry 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2008 Is that a caddis emerger pattern? Can you fish it on a dropper, too? Of course, I mean without the hackle.
Guest Report post Posted February 6, 2008 One of my favorite Caddis patterns is the Goddard Caddis. The body is spun deer hair, which helps it float even in the roughest water. http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?sho...=Goddard+Caddis http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/f...040901fotw.html
