Dale 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2008 I get my porcupine guard hair from road kill. Much cheaper than buying it, but just make sure you stop to 'harvest' the materials far enough away from your house so the people driving by don't know you . . . . Otherwise they stop to ask you "What's for dinner?"
uffepuffe 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2008 Haha! Well, since we don't even have Porcupine here in sweden I have no option but buying mine! I did one of these in size 18 aswell, not to satisfied with it but I post a photo anyway

uffepuffe 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2008 Here's a shot from underneath, the CDC dubbing doesn't show that well, I think I could easily make it thicker around the legs to gain some more floating. I will also try with a CDC underwing for the faster streams.
Guest Report post Posted February 16, 2008 Thanks for the pic Ulf! No need for that bad boy to float. I'll fish it on the bottom no problem. Brent

Iowaflyguy 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 For Nick I get my porcupine guard hairs from eflytyer.com. It is a little hard to navigate. Scroll down to the order info button click it and then look on the body materials page. When I have used him I have found his quality and service to be good. tight lines and heavy creels -Tom
