Vito1 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2008 I like what Eastern Fly Fishing magazine has done. They have a section entitled "Exposures". No real story, just photos with captions related to fly fishing. It's cool. It's usually about 4 pages. I don't think I've seen anything like that in a flyfishing magazine before. I enjoy seeing the photos as much as reading the articles so it's nice that a magazine has come along that places an emphasis on photography and not just photography used in feature articles, etc. I agree. Its the first thing I flip to when receiving that magazine.
monty3777 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 I just ordered the first 2 Trout Bum Diaries and I thought of this thread. First, I have enjoyed what I have seen so far and do not want to suggest that the films aren't a lot of fun to watch. However, I found myself getting a bit bored after the umteenth hero shot. I kind of expected a sort of documentary but the film (volume 1) was more like a compilitation of 10 second catch scenes. Again, not bad but I found myself wanting more. Ironically, in the deleted scenes there are a couple of segments that provide more nuanced views of their fishing and I have found myself watching those segments moe that the actual film itself. I can't wait to watch vol. 2 and I have already ordered vol. 3 - so I don't want this to seem like a major criticism of the AEG. Perhaps this is a comment about my age more than the videos. I'm 35 and I just missed the ADHD generation so I suspect that the film might play better to a 20 something crowd.
