Guest Report post Posted June 10, 2004 No fly box is complete with out a staple set of flies, regardless what creek you fish. Mine would be. Sub surface: Buggers- Brown/black/ olive Hares ear nymph Pheasant tail nymph Prince nymphs Zug bugs On the surface: Adams dry fly. Ant/cricket/beetle patterns. I don't care what creek you fish. If you present one of the patterns above correctly, you should catch fish. I didn't mention any sizes. Because your fly box should have all the patterns in different sizes. Good luck and make sure you let us know how you did.

Guest Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Tim, Elk hair caddis and stimulators work very well on the small streams in the GSMNP. If you're fishing some of the larger rivers, check with the local fly shops or hatch charts that are posted on the net. If you're going to be near Gatlinburg, try the Little River.
