feathers5 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Hi DHise: I wasn't sure you would see my request in the original thread. Is the Hetero-Genus fly posted on this site? I tried to find it, but came up short in my search. If it's not a secret would you send me the recipe? I'm always looking for a new pattern to fish here in Central, PA. Thanks
DHise 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 It is in the patterns database. http://www.flytyingforum.com/pattern6754.html Here is a step by step video with the recipe, as well. http://www.castersflyshop.com/Video%20Foot...eterogenius.wmv It is a killer pattern for numerous species. I put it together back in the early 1990's for my trip to New Zealand and have used it, religiously, ever since with great success. Thanks for the interest. Gooseberry 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 DHise: I'm sure the Hetero-Genus attracts fish. It's got it all....copper wire, pheasant tail, peacock herl and ice dub. I'm going to tie a few up and try 'em for trout. Thanks for sharing your fly pattern. Those pictures of the trout you landed with them are awesome.
