Scorpio 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 That looks great. Looks like he would squish if I stepped on him!! Ray Dear Ray, I think we should differ approx. three body profiles for the Czech nymph. It should depend on the insect, which you tie See attached pic. According to my opinion, it could be like this. Firetiger 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Scoprio, I like your argumentation for body profile based on insect imitation. Never thought about that However, bear in mind one more aspect - you want the fly to get down, and fast. For this round profile with just a few "legs" to add buggy feel works the best. Good choice of pink color - that is a sure grayling magnet. Pity the season closed.

You have to know that However I like olive or green colors as well. How to make the fly sinks faster? You can use tungsten wire, but it isn´t necessary in the small and shallow rivers. For all, I´m gonna to put my tying process here, when I save time durin X-mas. I think, you could be more successful if you respect the body shape. Scorpio 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Dear all, finally I saved some time and documented for you my tying process. Important points: 1 - I use eleastic tying thread 2 - you can put lead wire in 2-3 layers (as you need), then coat with nail polish (fix the body) 3 - fix nylon 0,10-0,12 mm and vinyl back 4-5 - form the body 6 - finish the fly with vinyl back and rib the body using nylon, make legs using needle 7 - dorsal view, the body is fluted and flat good luck Scorpio PS - my Rhyacophila tying process will be followed soon :-)
