Hanford Caddis

Recommended Posts

A very heavy caddis pupa utilizing a little glow in the dark tinsel. This fly gets down deep in a hurry.

Neat combination of materials, Carl. The CDC will create a nice bubble "aura" around the thorax of the fly, but there is plenty of weight to still get the pattern to the bottom. Excellent tying, as always. ;)

Looks very good. Like the name (for those of you back east, they store nuclear waste at Hanford).

I was about to ask if he'd named it that because Chernobyl was already taken.

Great pattern-- and thanks for the hanford explanation- I missed that. Makes a great name even greater. Will have to tie up some "3 Mile Island" versions for east of the Mississippi.

cheers!
