Guest Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Here are a few from the Monte Vista Crane Festival that was held this weekend. These were all taken on Saturday. I will be going through the ones taken on Thursday and Friday later. All were taken with the K20D and the Sigma 50-500mm. Thanks Jim
the saltydog 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 that's a lot of cranes!!! You have great subjects and I like that you did a great job catching them in action. lots of light, not a lot of color variation, is there something that could be done to the pics to make that red on their heads really pop? I played around a bit, but I'm not that talented.
Guest Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Thanks saltydog, I'm not sure what else can do done to the photos either. I don't do alot of post processing. I use Elements 6.0. Maybe someone else here can give me some suggestions. Thanks Jim

Peterjay 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Nice shots Jim - when I read your headline, I was expecting to see a bunch of guys in hard hats operating heavy equipment. Beautiful birds; we don't get to see them very often in this neck of the woods.
Guest Report post Posted March 19, 2009 Thanks Peter, you need to make your way out west. They estimated that there was about 5000 Cranes here this last weekend. Thanks Jim
