Arkman 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 I'm just starting to tie some bass poppers and make my own bodies and stuff. Maybe some tube flies and I'm just curious how you guys paint them or color them? Thanks!

Arkman 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by paint polish. Where do you buy it? I use paint polish to color mine, nice solid colors and harden the foam to boot. Jan

Philly 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 Since all mine are made from soft foam bodies or cylinders, I use permanent markers or if I'm looking for fluorescent colors, fabric markers. You can blend or fade the colors easily.
Arkman 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to do some this weekend. What do you coat them with when your done. I've read the hard as nails product, I thought I would try that.
SCflyguy 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 I bought a color assortment of sharpies at wally world that came in about 10 or 12 different colors. They work great for coloring soft foam and even epoxy type flies. I've also used finger nail polish on harder materials.
